As part of their 2019 winter campaign in NYC, Chick Fil-a opened a pop-up store on 105th Wooster Street.
The decorations are based on assets and designs from their recent short, The Time Shop. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to design 2 out of 3 shadowboxes for the installation.
Sam enters a grandfather’s clock at her house, lured by Tick and Tock: 2 cats whose tails always sway in sync with time. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The composition for this first shadowbox was based on Andrew Serkin’s 3Del to keep the integrity of this gear tunnel.
As Sam arrives at the Time Shop, she was then greeted by the shopkeeper, amongst all the whirring and ticking time-telling machines. Some of them move like a living being while others spin intricately.
